Space Place Landscape

We linger in Spaces, live our lives in Places, visit and view Landscapes. We use these terms every day, sometimes even interchangeably. Rarely do we stop and fully consider the spaces we inhabit and move through.

Where am I? What does it mean that I am here? What does my presence contribute to the space, what change or meaning does it create?

Through this 8-week project, I sought to explore these questions. I researched these concepts, read works by Lucy R. Lippard and Marc Augé, interviewed friends and colleagues, visited places from those interviews, recorded audio, filled up 4 rolls of Portra 400, and ultimately distilled all my documentation and research into a publication and an interactive installation.
