exploring the intersection of digital and physical design.

Mariana is a Cuban/Bulgarian interdisciplinary designer based in Detroit. She is primarily interested in publication, motion, and experiential design. She enjoys extending her typography, research, and system-thinking skills to a variety of different projects (and mediums), eagerly adding new tools to her belt whether digital, physical, or at the intersection of both. In her personal practice, she is exploring themes of identity, belonging, and our relationships to the spaces we inhabit.

She has a BFA with Honors in Communication Design from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. Mariana has previously interned at Lafayette American and the Henry Ford, and worked with Shinola

Currently, she is Cita Press’s Communications & Design Coordinator and the studio manager at Small Works Detroit. Her inbox is open for select new projects, pet pics, and future friends :-)

In her free time Mariana is

  • + wheelthrowing as her meditation
